she said this she said that..ooo...Politics!

When I first joined my department, everyone was getting along well. My colleagues squeezed in the meeting room everyday to lunch together.

But lately, things are different.

The place has split into two. Colleagues were even called up to the manager to explain the situation. We have 17 clinical research coordinators. Some don't even smile to one another anymore. Let alone talk. Unless, they really had to (regarding work).

I did not want to get involved. Not even abit. It's not supposed to be an issue for me. But however I try to avoid, it is so difficult. During lunch, whenever the other party is not around, this party will talk about the other. I am caught in the middle. I have my colleague who I'm quite close with and also my senior whom I respect and like in the same room. Trouble is, they are from groups that are against each other. And that day I was being the victim. Senior started to aim indirectly at my colleague (shooted on me) trying to get my colleague answer her dissatisfactions. At that moment, I did not get it at all. I was wondering what have I done to deserve the treatment that she gave. I almost lost my cool. But later when my colleague was not around, my senior got back to normal again! She even asked me about my camp! Then I knew her motive...she was trying to shoot at my colleague indirectly.

Very sad to see this happening in my department. I seriously thought I joined a politics-free office in the beginning... But now, all the ugly sides start to surface... I hope this won't last too long. It is more serious than I thought. Just hope things get back to normal because it is hard for me to be nice to both parties at the same time right now.
