Day 2 -- |N PanGk0R

Okie here we go, my second day when I was in Pangkor Island was much much better than the 1st. I woke up the earliest and Meavy, May Jee, Bao Chuei and Bao Yee were still sleeping. Went to have a shower and they were still sleeping. After a while Bao Chuei and Bao Yee woke up and have shower, got ready and 3 of us went for our breakfast buffet. It's our turn this time hehehe. May Jee and Meavy were still sleeping.

Went to line up and waited for my omelette which was filled with onions, mushrooms and cheese. It was yummy. Felt full enough and three of us went back to the room and found Meavy and May Jee at the balcony drinking tea. Rested a while on my extra bed and waited for the two to shower and get ready. Then we changed into our swimming suites as we know we'll be going for snorkelling later on that day. I brought rm100 and went to buy for a padding for my swimming suite from a store in the hotel as my original pad in the suite has gone out of shape already. That left me with rm75 and that was what I brought to town. I didn't expect to be seeing things to buy and also never thought of spending for snorkelling, taxi and lunch. So, what was I thinking then?

Waited so very long outside the lobby for our taxi. Our time has gone to the waste due to waiting for our transport to get to Pangkor town. While waiting, we took some pics heehehehe.

Finally, our taxi which in Pangkor are actually vans arrived. It was a new Kia Pregio minibus. The driver drove quite fast and as along the way there was going up and down, rounding around. That gave me a lowsy feeling. I felt queesy and sick and felt like vomiting by the time we reached Pangkor town area. I almost vomitted when I got down from the van but unfortunately it didn't come out wakaka.

Went to see the clothing shops which has lots of Pangkor T-shirts and also batik cloth or 'sarung', like the picture above Jiji was wearing. In the end, Bao Chuei, Bao Yee and Meavy bought one each. Went to a shop and Meavy showed it to me one which has a pattern and colour to my likings and found out it's only really reasonable, rm15 only! In our hotel shop, it's priced rm50...but the quality might be better lah. Still from outside after wearing it looks more or less the same. So I bought one for myself hehehe....

We also went to look for tit-bits such as dried sotong snacks, dried ikan bilis.... all those stuffs. The girls bought alot to bring back home, while I just bought some for me to eat hahaha. But I did buy salted fish for my dad.

After that, we went to have our lunch in a Chinese restaurant / coffee shop. We ordered oyster with eggs, pork sweet sour, veggie and erm... I cannot remember! Told ya my memory is bad +_+

Then walked a while along the shops while waiting for our taxi man. Meavy and I bought a blue ball that can be inflated, so that we can play it at the beach. The taxi man finally came and sent us to the Fu Lin Kong temple. Went to have some prayers at the temple first. Didn't really know which way to go so I followed May Jee hahaha. After that, we went to see monkeys in the cage doing funny acts. (Look at the monkey in the picture below closely, can see something happened to the monkey? Wakaka this pic was captured by Jiji)

Then went up some stairs around the temple hill which has the mini Great Wall of China which was really quire mini.... Quite okay lah this place, but the weather that time damn hot. May Jee, Bao Chuei and Bao Yee climbed till the top of the Fate stone part. I felt lazy to climb till so high and if I don't get any fate then too bad lah hahaha. It's fated for me not to have fate then kekeke.

After visiting the temple, our taxi man brought us to Dutch Fort. I think it was the place where the dutch people had war in our country long time ago....maybe I was still in China in my past life before this one wakaka.

Actually there's nothing much at Dutch Fort. It is just basically what u saw in the picture above, a house at the background but we did not go till there and there's a deep hole that looks like a well... or a hideout place. So, we just took pictures and was there for about 10 minutes, then the taxi man took us to elsewhere.

Hahaha....the next destination name has beed forgotten by me... Please refresh me, Meavy. There's a beach over there but the water isn't as clean as in the beach nearby the place we stayed so we just dipped our feet and feel the water at our feet. The beach infront of our place of stay was much more beautiful and cleaner...wonder if the people in the pic below knew about that place?

My Trip to Pangkor (031105-051105)

DAY 1

Last week which was the public holiday to celebrate Hari Raya, my friends and I went for a vacation. Supposed to be going Genting Highlands but all the hotel rooms in our chosen hotel were fully booked. Then pangkor was the desired place for our trip instead. This is mainly because we wanted to go to the beach and none of us had been to pangkor. (Below is the pic meavy took at the beach we went snorkeling)

May Jee, Meavy and I departed from Malacca early in the morning about 5.30am by taxi to KL pudu. I tried to rest as much as I could in the taxi to charge all my energy needed when we reach Pangkor hehehe. We reached Pudu just in time about 8am to meet our friends from Johore. Greeted one another as we haven't met each other for almost 2 years, then wasted no time to take the bus to Jalan Duta bus station. Met Meavy's net friend there. He looked so matured and so hairy with the sideburn make him look like monkey wakaka...and also very very tall.

So there we sat the bus from Jalan Duta to Lumut which took us about 4 hours. Did stop by petrol stations and shops in Ipoh for us to relieve ourselves hahaha. During the journey, I also did what I enjoyed most which is sleeping hahaha. Felt that it was a long way to lumut. Woke up when we reached the village area with wide green field. Couldn't wait to reach Lumut at that time so kept myself awake. Then finally our bus stopped at the Lumut small bus station! Got off the bus with our begs and tried to ask for a coming back ticket from the counters. Couldn't get one that returns from Lumut - Malacca, five of us bought tickets to return to KL.... Seems that the bus tickets was almost sold out and we were lucky to get those tickets.

Took a shot at Lumut Jetty

It was sunny and hot by then. Walked to the Lumut Jetty and didn't really know what to do over there. It was so very crowded there because it's a public holiday I guess. Lined up to get to the place for the ferry, but felt like it's a very long way to go as the queue hardly moved. Fined ourselves the way and thought of sitting the hotel ferry that we are going to stay. But, when I found out the price, it's ridiculous...Rm 60 per person and no staying overnight, departure by 6pm the same day. What the ****??! So we decided to take the normal ferry instead. First thing when I sat down the ferry was to check for the orange life-jacket hahaha. Luckily, I saw loads of them under the passengers' chairs and I wasn't worried anymore. Felt that the ferry was hardly moving and I hoped to be sitting something much FASTER than that! 40minutes ride in the ferry and we finally reached Pangkor island!

Saw pink vans all around. It's the pangkor taxi. Got one of it and was on our way to our hotel, Pangkor Island Beach Resort. Passed by a few beaches and some hotels and seemed like our taxi is still not slowing down. Then it tooked us round and up a hilly side and was thinking to myself..."wow, this is far~"

It seems that the hotel provide a very tight security. Before taxis can enter the entrance, they need to inform the guards there first. So there the taxi drove us and dropped us outside the lobby. Went to the reception counter, with Bao Yee and request to check-into the room that has been booked by phone and confirmed through my e-mail reply as they requested for me reply them. Met with a stupid donkey receptionist, a guy who couldn't speak convincingly enough. First, asked me for a RM200 deposit which I did not ready for..ok, maybe I wasn't aware of the procedure. Then asked me for the credit card to pay for the whole hotel room, RM1159. I did not own any credit cards for god sake and I did not bring my mom's as I think they would not accept payments by 3rd party credit card owner anyway. According to the rules, even the wife will not be able to use it. That's what I learnt when I was in Jusco. So the donkey demanded for the payment. But my mom personally phoned the hotel one day before we went to confirm again and was told that the payment has already been processed. The donkey said from his system it did not seem that way. I argued with him and he said he asked for my mother's contact and said he will call my mom later. Then, he gave me the keys.

Entered in the room. No before entering, Jiji asked me to knock 3 times so I knocked hehehe. The room was nice, obviously it has to be with that kind of price. Then called my mom up to complain about the hotel payment matter. She went to call them up again and was told that the hotel price was not as stated earlier on the phone, and they actually had not deducted anything from the credit card as they want to confirm to see if I really appeared infront of their eyes. If not, I guess they will be giving other customer's our room I guess. What they said plus plus (++) earlier was a very BIG plus plus charges. An estimation of hotel price 900++ for 2 nights turned out to be 1159 in the end. So, I just felt cheated by them. In the end my mom called up again and said they had credited the amount from the card already and told me it's settled and not to worry about it. I felt really relieved after that!

Felt hungry by that time and luckily I have the cheese bun my mom bought for me. Ate some of it with MayJee and Meavy hehehe. Went outside for side-seeing. One thing I liked about our hotel room alot is that, when we opened the balcony door and walked a few steps outside, we can already see the beach! It's a cool place. Enjoyed the breeze of the beach so much~

Self-take pic of myself.Asked jiji to take me this one.

Self-take while my friends were chit-chatting.

On our first day, we didn't have much activities on as by the time we checked-in, it was about 2 something PM I guess. Went to the beach with our clothes on. Yes, our T-shirts and shorts hahaha. Meavy, May Jee and I went deeper and deeper till the sea wave got out buttocks. There was a splashing type of wave that will push us forward with a splash and the other kind that just swoop us off and Meavy named it "Ham Sap" wave wakakaka. It was really fun playing with the wave and waiting for one to come and splash us. Hmm...If only Bao Chuei and Bao Yee joined us. In the end, three of us were wet all over. Have a quick shower before returning to our room. It was then time to clean ourselves for our buffet dinner already. So, Meavy, May Jee and I washed our hair together in the bathroom hahaha then took turns to shower.

Went to the restaurant by the pool for our dinner. Only 3 of us have access to our buffet as only 3 persons are allowed in a room. So, the other 2 was supposed to order ala-carte. May Jee, Meavy and Bao Chuei got their turn for buffet and so they went to take all the food there ahhaha. So, Bao Yee and me just sat at our table and waited. We were then asked to order our ala-carte by the waiter. So we screened all the cheapest we can get. We ordered a pizza each. One cost Rm19 and the other Rm21. I have a plate of fish and some other things the girls brought to our table. The manager noticed we were sharing and asked the waiter to warn us that there's no sharing of foods for ala-carte. Bao Yee then didn't eat the buffet foods at all and just waited for the pizza. The pizza came and it wasn't really nice. Ofcourse, couldn't beat Pizza Hut or Shakey's ones. Couldn't finish our pizza and asked the waiter to take away for us.

After dinner, we went back to our rooms I guess hhahaha could not remember. Then later on, we went to the lounge upstairs of the restaurant that was having Philipino band members singing. We ended up sitting on the chair on one end just resting. And then we realized it was really boring doing nothing over there.

This is the pic I took of Meavy and May Jee during our boring hours... You can see they really looked bored! Hahahha.....

We did not sleep very late on our first night as we couldn't think of what to keep us busy. In the end when we were all in our bed, we asked May Jee to tell us ghost stories. It was quite scary. May Jee got paranoid herself after that hahaha. She didn't dare to go to the toilet that night unless being accompanied.

(to be continued...... 2nd Day)

Dammit

I got a long lecture from my superior today, together with my beloved colleague. Why? Because both of us always went back too late. The other thing is she isn't happy that we're lying to her by signing out early and going back late so that she won't find out. The reason we did that was because she had already advised us not to go back home later than 7pm. But do we have choices?
My colleague seemed to be overloaded with her work and I am not going to just leave her with all the work right? We don't have much choices. Work cannot be delayed as it will only accumulate day by day. I was told that I'm overly hardworking. Seems that it's a crime.
Actually I am not trying to be a hard worker. In fact, I don't think I am hardworking. I just help whenever I could to lighten someone's burden. And also I don't feel that the threatening part of me risking my career is necessary.
What I did that was wrong, wasn't done on purpose to make my superior angry and make her feel that we are less trustworthy. For one, bare in mind that I am not good in lying and would rather get a very harsh punishment than lying. I had no choice. I lied to her because I didn't want both of us going back late to be an issue. As, she would make it as a big issue.
Then again, if there are work to be done and when the work of the day hasn't finish, how are we going to turn our mind and head off from our workplace and expect us to go home with a mind in peace pretending that there are no work leftovers? It's fine if we have the time to do it the following day.
But workload will only get double if the previous day's work is not finished.
In conclusion, I did nothing wrong going back late doing my work. But I was in a wrong when I lied.
