I-plan..

Hmm...I think I would want to really start helping my mom bit by bit by end of next year. I did mentioned before, my contract is ending next year Oct. My letter clearly states that in the end of the contract they will be flying me off back to my country (yes flight paid...i will definitely choose Spore Airlines!!)
So I am not thinking of renewing my contract...for now.
I know my mom always said that she is still very capable and will be working very hard for the next few years but I would like to help her out abit, lessen her work and burden a little if I could.
I do realize that I may be lucky to get a good job in Spore, but in long-term, I won't be devoting my life in this job. I don't see my future in it. Say in next 5 years I were to stay, I would be a 'senior' coordinator. Like my senior colleagues. I don't dream of being a senior research coordinator. Nor do I dream of managing a nursing home. But the thing is, that is my future. Most importantly, it is my mother's hard work setting the business up and frankly speaking she is doing a great job and doing very well.
I got to keep it up and try my best to improve it so that we can maintain the business as it is easy to be lagging behind in this very fast pace industry where more and more healthcare professionals are coming up with new ideas and setting up their very own nursing home.

dun get what it means

i may not seem all that stupid, but at times i guess i don't seem to really get the meaning...
when a guy asked you out for a movie?
-to me, he was being friendly, and nice...not sure if he has anything other intentions.
when a colleague says it would be nice if i could work in a same room with him?
-to me, because he can ask me do more work! HAHAHA

she said this she said that..ooo...Politics!

When I first joined my department, everyone was getting along well. My colleagues squeezed in the meeting room everyday to lunch together.

But lately, things are different.

The place has split into two. Colleagues were even called up to the manager to explain the situation. We have 17 clinical research coordinators. Some don't even smile to one another anymore. Let alone talk. Unless, they really had to (regarding work).

I did not want to get involved. Not even abit. It's not supposed to be an issue for me. But however I try to avoid, it is so difficult. During lunch, whenever the other party is not around, this party will talk about the other. I am caught in the middle. I have my colleague who I'm quite close with and also my senior whom I respect and like in the same room. Trouble is, they are from groups that are against each other. And that day I was being the victim. Senior started to aim indirectly at my colleague (shooted on me) trying to get my colleague answer her dissatisfactions. At that moment, I did not get it at all. I was wondering what have I done to deserve the treatment that she gave. I almost lost my cool. But later when my colleague was not around, my senior got back to normal again! She even asked me about my camp! Then I knew her motive...she was trying to shoot at my colleague indirectly.

Very sad to see this happening in my department. I seriously thought I joined a politics-free office in the beginning... But now, all the ugly sides start to surface... I hope this won't last too long. It is more serious than I thought. Just hope things get back to normal because it is hard for me to be nice to both parties at the same time right now.

Justin Bieber - One Time My World Acoustic

My another favourite Bieber song other than his big hit Baby. If I'm not wrong, I first heard this song from one of the songs Min sent, and was wondering at that time why did he send me a little boy's song hahaha...
Nice song anyway!

first night at work in Singapore

i just did my first night shift. it was because i need to help out in one study that involves volunteers staying overnight. well, for this study, it was really slow during the night! we basically just need to be there, doing almost nothing (because we are not looking after ill patients, but healthy volunteers)...the activity rose in the mornings and noon where there is blood taking and sending blood to the lab stuffs.

am so glad i will be moving out from this old landlady's house soon. imagine yesterday while i was having my afternoon nap before my night shift, she took her key and opened my room door to check me out! it woke me up freaking bitch... she gave excuse that she smelled something in my room and wanted to clean it. honestly, i got enough of her nonsense... i feel like being watched 24hrs and always need to notify her of my whereabouts....BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....

As time goes by, I become more certain that after my 2 year contract ends, I will then move back home. I know it is still early to say. But home is where I want to be settled at.

plans?

Have been just thinking something about the future at times.
Like for now, i have been working in Spore for over4 months now.
My work permit contract ends in Oct 2012.
Will I renew my permit (up to the HR and also up to me)?
Or after 2 years I will need to move to another job?
Well my dad showed me a place that he wants me to think to invest in.
I did not like the idea at first as I wanted to invest in Spore condos when I have the resources.
But it all kind of changed when he brought me to see the land in a country club area.
Plus, eventually I think I will need to learn how to manage my mom's business.
At the moment, I know nuts about her business as she still very much so wants to handle everything on her own and still see herself doing the same in a long time to go.
I am just having thoughts of returning to Malacca after my work here in Singapore ends.
Then I will also concentrate on my what I have in mind that is to learn about operating a business.

20 Feb

Freaking hell it will be March before we even notice it.
I will be flying off to Sydney the day after tomorrow.
Obviously I will be looking forward to it :-)
My senior and me plan to go to Brodi Beach hahaha :-P

Well I'm kind of missing someone alot lately.
Especially after Min smsed me before he flew home to Myanmar.
A day before he told me he'll be going back and that he'll be in my arms in next 3-4 years as he is going to serve in the army...hahaha I don't know how true is this as I don't think he will really be joining the army...which is crazy.
And the day that he flew, he smsed again saying goodbye and take care stuffs...
Haiz...I really wished I could at least see him once more before he went home.
But I asked for this...I could have been nicer before.

I just need time...this just happened a week before so I guess I'm still feeling it.
May God bless everyone.

Flying Business :-)

As Clinical Research Coordinators, we will be assigned for studies that might be initiated by sponsors like Merk, Schering-Plaugh..etc or from our own hospital professors. If we get lucky, we might get sent to overseas for the Investigators Meeting.
The meeting is held before the start of the study (before Site Initiation Visit Meeting).
A colleague of mine who joined 2 weeks ahead of me will be sent to Rome for the 1-2 days meeting.
Lucky her! And later on, I got a news that I will be assigned for a skin disease study and will be attending the Investigators Meeting in Sydney! It will be on the 24th-26th February but will be going a day earlier for exploring more of Sydney with my senior :-)

What an irony when I was thinking about Australia a few weeks before and wonder when will I have the opportunity to visit Australia for a holiday! Well I am very sure that I will have a chance to do so one day but ta daaaa! Did not realize it will be this soon! (Although this is for an official event, not for holidaying!)

PLUS, as it will be across continents, they are booking business class flights for me and my senior. I will get the chance to taste the difference between economy and business class flights :-)
My senior and I plan to climb the Sydney Bridge (which costs $200) :-P

I have applied my visit visa online and though it is flooding badly in Queensland, I really do hope it won't be affecting the meeting which is in Sydney and hope it will really come true as it will be a great experience for me :-)
